Here’s some stuff about the three founders of VEGUS.

Michael, used to be a Chartered Accountant but found he would rather grow plants than sit around playing with numbers. For almost twenty years he grew sprouts making all the errors a person possibly could. But he kept on going, eliminating the errors one by one until he could grow wonderful healthy sprouts each and every crop.

After all those errors and false starts, Michael arrived at a system that included some ways of doing things that no one else has. And kept it all certified organic.

Now, the VEGUS sprouts are grown in enclosed environment chambers where Michael fusses over the temperature, humidity, watering, air circulation, soaking of seeds and harvesting of the plants – and gives the rest of us a hard time if we should dream of going into a chamber without changing shoes, clothes, etc., etc etc.

Two of the most important things to know about Ariana that she is an ardent vegetarian, raw foodist and as well as being a graduate in statistics. She puts together the logic of statistics with her love of raw foods to find ever better ways of marketing our juices. Of course, Ariana says its not really about marketing and sales, its about making good food choices available to as many people as possible.

Gerry, is our resident scientist/engineer – at least Trinity College, Dublin claims he’s a Master of Science. For us he’s the one who imposes dictatorial control over quality and hygiene in our business – even makes Michael wash his hands when he comes out of the environmental chambers. (May be just a payback for Michael making Gerry change before going into the chambers).

From different paths and different disciplines the three of us came together here in Wexford with the idea of making the best possible juices and doing so in way that actually delivers the full value all the way to the home of the consumer – that’s you!
